NAIL CARE GUIDE
How to Remove Press-On Nails Safely
Never rip or pry off a press-on nail. Slow removal helps protect the natural nail underneath.
- Follow the product directions.Different adhesives and nail products may require different removal methods. Start with the instructions supplied with the nail set and glue.
- Shorten excessive length if appropriate. If the product directions allow, carefully reduce extra length so the nail is less likely to catch while soaking.
- Soak patiently.Warm soapy water and cuticle oil may help loosen some temporary applications. Glue-on sets may require an adhesive remover or acetone specifically recommended by the manufacturer.
- Check the edges gently.Use a manicure stick only when the edge has already loosened. Never force it underneath an attached nail.
- Repeat rather than pull.If the press-on resists, soak longer and follow the remover instructions again.
- Clean and moisturize. After removal, gently clear remaining residue as directed, wash your hands, and apply nail or cuticle oil.
